OnePlus Nord Malaysia launch happening on 18 August

OnePlus Malaysia has just confirmed that its OnePlus Nord will be announced locally through a special launch event on the 18th August 2020. It’s happening at 11am Malaysian time and it is likely streamed live through its social channels including Facebook.

We expect OnePlus to reveal its official pricing and pre-order details on the 18th of August. As reported earlier, several retailers in Malaysia have indicated that the Nord will be available to purchase starting Saturday, 22nd August 2020.

If you’ve recently purchased the Mystery Box, you can use the RM99 voucher to buy the OnePlus Nord on their official store on Shopee. Apart from the phone, we also expect them to announce the OnePlus Buds TWS for Malaysian market.

Available in either Grey Onyx or Blue Marble, the OnePlus Nord is their most affordable 5G smartphone that starts from less than RM2,000. It features a 90Hz 6.44″ Full HD+ AMOLED screen and a Snapdragon 765G that supports 5G. The device can be configured with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

For taking pictures, it gets a quad-camera setup that consists of a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth-sensing and a 2MP macro shooter. It also gets a 32MP main + 8MP ultra-wide-angle selfie setup that’s housed in a punch-hole.

Powering the Nord is a decent 4,115mAh battery that supports 30W charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support wireless charging. Out of the box, it runs on Android 10 with OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin on top.
