This is what the next Motorola Razr could look like—this time, with 5G

Foldable phones aren’t going away anytime soon, with Samsung set to add the Galaxy Z Fold 2 to the Galaxy Z Flip and the original Galaxy Fold in the range. But other smartphone-makers have also weighed into the discussion—most notably, the Motorola Razr that was launched late last year.

However, with the technology world preparing for a 5G-ready world, a sequel to the “first” Motorola Razr is reportedly in the works. Now, we have a first look at the Motorola Razr 5G, thanks to leaked images that surfaced on Chinese social platform, Weibo.

Have a look:

From the images, it appears that Motorola has implemented a few subtle design changes to the second-gen Razr. This includes more rounded edges, while the front of the phone sports a more less pronounced chin compared to the current Motorola Razr.

Additionally, the fingerprint scanner appears to have been moved—to where, we can’t tell—and the cover display looks to be slightly larger, as well. At the rear of the device, you can also spot a single camera (a rumoured 48MP shooter) sitting alongside an LED flash. Phonearena reports that the internal display is a 6.2″ screen—the same as the original (foldable) Razr, although slimmer bezels offer the illusion that the Razr 5G’s display is larger.

Even though the Razr 5G’s main selling point over its predecessor is the inclusion of 5G support, the device in the images is actually connected to a 4G network. Perhaps the prototype/device wasn’t being used in a 5G-ready area, but kudos to you if you noticed it—I almost missed it myself.

These aren’t the only leaked images of the purported Motorola Razr 5G to have surfaced in recent weeks. Evan Blass recently tweeted an image of the foldable phone, which pretty much confirms the Razr 5G’s design:

Other rumours include a possible Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G under the hood, along with up to 256GB of onboard storage and 8GB of RAM. Motorola is also predicted to upsize the minuscule 2,510mAh battery of the first Motorola Razr—this time, you could be getting a 2,845mAh battery to sustain your device.

None of the details have been confirmed by Motorola just yet, although we expect to see the Motorola Razr 5G to be launched for global markets sometime during Q4 2020. As always, we’ll be covering the details, so keep SoyaCincau.com bookmarked on your browser to keep up to date on the latest developments as they become available.
