After reporting 39 new cases yesterday, the number of cases in Malaysia has dropped to 13 today which brings the total number of cases to 8,956. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 124.
There are 5 new recoveries today and a total of 8,612 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.16% while the mortality rate is 1.38%.
The number of active cases has risen slightly to 220 and all are currently isolated and receiving treatment. There are 2 patients in ICU with one requiring respiratory support.
Out of the 13 new cases today, 8 are imported while 5 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 2 Malaysians returning from the United Kingdom and 1 Malaysian returning from the Philippines. There are also imported cases involving foreigners that arrive from India, Pakistan, Gambia and Ukraine.
The number of local cases drop to 5 today which include 2 cases in Sarawak, and 1 case each in Sabah, Perlis and Johor. The 2 cases in Sarawak include 1 Malaysian from the Sentosa cluster and 1 foreigner from the Mambong cluster.
