Apple Central World: This week, the largest Apple Store in Thailand opens its doors

In a move to increase its presence in Southeast Asia, Cupertino-based Apple has announced the opening of the Apple Central World in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday, the 31st of July 2020 . This will be the second—and largest—Apple Store in the country; based on images, it’s certainly one of the most beautiful stores out there as well.

Located in Ratchaprasong, Bangok, designers have integrated an all-glass design into the architecture of the building, which sits under a cantilevered “Tree Canopy” roof. Inside, there are two floors that are connected with a staircase that loops around a timber pillar (and yes, lifts are also available).

Besides the usual large product display tables, the store also has a “Boardroom”, “Video Wall”, and “Forum”. Apple wants to turn some of these areas into hubs for creatives, while there are displays of special accessories and products that cover a range of creative interests around the store.

Additionally, features like the “Forum” are designed to be used for Today at Apple sessions in the future, although these have been postponed due to COVID-19-related concerns for now. In fact, visitors will need to make appointments just to enter Apple Central World, and walk-in customers aren’t permitted in order to “ensure the health and safety” of guests.

As mentioned, this is the second Apple Store to open its doors in Thailand, and the 511th in the world. It will cater to Bangkok’s wide range of locals, expats, and tourists, too. Over 130 team members who speak 17 languages will make up the staff—all of whom will be wearing face masks, and practising social distancing.

If you’re in town, and you’re keen to visit Apple Central World (on or after Friday, 31st July 2020), click here to make reservations. The store will open from 10am to 9pm everyday, and safety measures such as face masks and body temperature readings will be required to enter.
