The Colop e-mark ‘printer’ is wireless and can fit in your bag

AE Stamp Group introduces the Colop e-mark in Malaysia, a compact and wireless electronic printing device. It is able to create, edit and label digital texts and images and easily transfer them to any absorbent surface—best used for labels.

“First introduced in Germany and Austria last year, the Colop e-mark serves as an alternative for those who are seeking convenience and innovation in creating unlimited different marking and labelling images by using a portable and mobile device,” writes AE Stamp in their press release.

How it works

The e-mark is operated by a software on a mobile device or a computer by generating its own WiFi hotspot. Once it’s connected, you can grab the device out of its docking station and hold it like how you would hold a mouse.

The device allows you to create any kind of imprint, including but not limited to logos, texts, pictures, date, time and numbers. Using their app (iOS, Android, Windows), your imprint can be sent wirelessly to the Colop e-mark device to be printed right away. However, you can only save up to four customised designs in the device at a time.

You can ‘print’ your imprint by sort of swiping the device over your chosen surface. You can print on any absorbent surfaces like paper, cardboard, cartons, books, files, tissue serviettes, paper bags and even selected wood materials. With one ink-cartridge, the device can digitally label up to 5,000 imprints at a resolution of 600 dpi.

The e-mark can also add things like the date, time and serial numbering to designs, as well as have ready-to-use customisable templates and a wide range of texts and images. Additionally, you can generate barcodes or QR codes with it.

Another notable feature of the device is that it is small and lightweight—weighing approximately 224.5g. It can fit inside most briefcases and bags, and has a built-in rechargeable battery which helps the device to continuously print for up to five hours. You can charge it back by attaching the e-mark to its docking station and connecting it to a power source.

The retail price is RM1,399, and it comes with one ink cartridge, a docking station, its charger plug, and a USB cable for data transfer. Each ink cartridge refill is priced at RM169, and the Colop e-mark device comes in two colour variants—white and black. If you purchase the device from AE Stamp Group, you will also receive a complimentary and genuine Colop e-mark protective hard case worth RM83. You can also purchase the device through Lazada and Shopee.
