Leak: This is the closest look we’ve had at the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy Watch 3 is one of the most hotly-anticipated wearable launches of the year (5th August, mark your calendars). A couple of details have already been leaked in recent weeks, with things like gestures and other features surfacing alongside pictures of the actual smartwatch.

However, the folks over at TechTalkTV have uncovered the closest look at the Galaxy Watch 3 so far, with the complete design and look of the smartwatch seen in a 3-minute-long video on YouTube. Have a look:

Essentially, a lot of the leaked information (prior to this) are confirmed in the video, including a physical bezel that’s similar to the one seen on the first Galaxy Watch. The unit shown in the video, the smaller 41mm variant, has a 1.2″ AMOLED display; it has a smaller footprint from the 42mm Galaxy Watch, probably due to what appears to be the sized-down (but still rotatable) bezel. Plus, the buttons look slightly more flush on the body of the watch to offer a sleeker overall look.

On the software side of things, the UI retains the familiar look that the Galaxy Watch series shares—navigation is done via the rotating bezel, or the touch display. I must say that the confirmation of the physical bezel is good news to me—personally, the bezel on the Galaxy Watch is the most intuitive way to navigate a smartwatch UI.

There’s an included ECG sensor as well as a blood pressure monitor, functionality that wasn’t available on past iterations. Overall, the Galaxy Watch 3 appears to be more of an update to the first Galaxy Watch—the past few smartwatch releases have been focused on Samsung’s Active line-up. And yes, you get IP68 water and dust resistance and a 5ATM rating, so you’ll still be able to use this in the same “active” way as the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
