Malaysia has reported 7 new cases today which brings the total number of COVID-19 infections to 8,904. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 124.
The Ministry of Health has recorded just 1 new recovery today and a total of 8,601 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.60% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
At the moment, there are 179 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and receiving treatment. There are no patients in ICU today.
Out of the 7 new cases, 4 are imported while the remaining 3 are local transmissions. The imported cases consist of Malaysians returning from Russia, Pakistan and Australia. There’s 1 also foreigner that came from Indonesia. In terms of local transmissions, there are 3 new cases reported in Sabah which are detected during pre-surgery screening.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that that there’s no travel restrictions for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations. For those travelling back to their respective hometowns are urged to comply with the SOP.
