COVID-19: Malaysia records 7 new cases, only 1 local transmission today

Malaysia records 7 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 8,725. Fortunately, there are no new deaths recorded and the death toll remains at 122.

There’s only 1 new recovery today and a total of 8,520 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.65% while the mortality rate is 1.40%.

The number of active cases remaining has jumped to 83 today and all are currently isolated and still receiving treatment. There are now 4 patients in ICU and 3 of them require respiratory support.

Out of the 7 cases today, 6 are imported and there’s only 1 local case today. The imported cases involve 2 Malaysians and 4 non-Malaysians. The sole local case is a Malaysian in Melaka.
