The number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Malaysia have dropped to 3 today which brings the total number of cases to 8,677. There are no new deaths recorded and the death toll remains at 121 for 24 consecutive days.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5 new recoveries and a total of 8,486 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.80% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
There are now 70 active cases remaining which are currently receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU with one requiring respiratory support.
All 3 new cases today are imported from overseas and there are zero local infections today. This is the 2nd time Malaysia records no new daily local infections during the MCO. The 3 imported cases are Malaysians returning from Mexico, Sudan and Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Health has also announced the end of the Sri Petaling mosque cluster. This is the biggest COVID-19 cluster in Malaysia with a total of 3,375 positive cases and 34 deaths with a total of 17 sub-clusters.
