OnePlus Nord is launching on 21 July and it’s officially coming to Malaysia

OnePlus is going back to basics with its upcoming OnePlus Nord. While most recent OnePlus smartphones are going upmarket which prices hitting above RM4,000, the new Nord series appears to be going back to its flagship killer roots with a phone that’s priced under USD 500 (about RM2,137). If you’re thinking of getting your hands on one, OnePlus has officially revealed that the Nord will be coming to Malaysia soon.

According to OnePlus, Nord will continue to offer its premium OnePlus experience to Malaysians and it follows their new global business strategy of introducing new products at more affordable price segments. At the moment, they have not revealed the full specs yet but the first batch of pre-orders in Europe have already sold out. Another batch of pre-order is expected to go live on 8th July.

The brand added that the new product line will address feedback from its growing community that has shown a desire for a more affordable phone that offers OnePlus’ flagship-level product and user experience standards. From the looks of it, Nord will be the device that will enable OnePlus to reach out to a broader market.

The new phone will be officially unveiled on the 21st of July 2020 at 10pm Malaysian time. According to OnePlus, this would be the world’s first AR-based smartphone launch.

From what we know so far, is that the Nord will be 5G ready and it is confirmed to be running on a Snapdragon 765G processor. Some have also speculated that the device would come with a 6.55″ display that has a 90Hz refresh rate.

The official Malaysian page is up and you can also follow the official Malaysian Nord Instagram account here.
