Realme’s Snapdragon 865 5G smartphone is coming to Malaysia on 6 July

Realme Malaysia is about to introduce the X50 Pro 5G smartphone next week. After the device was spotted on SIRIM last month, Realme will finally announce the 5G smartphone for our market via a Facebook Live Stream event on the 6th of July at 11am.

The flagship-class device was first announced in February and this is their first Snapdragon 865 powered 5G smartphone. The device features a 6.44″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen that has a fluid 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The screen also features an in-display fingerprint sensor and HDR10+ certification.

The device can be configured with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. To keep things cool, Realme has fitted a five-dimension vapour cooling system that contains 3 layers of graphite.

For taking pictures, the X50 5G comes with a quad-camera setup that consists of a 64MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. In front, it gets a wide punch-hole which houses a 32MP main selfie shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G bands in both SA and NSA architecture as well as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Although it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, it supports dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Powering the device is a 4,200mAh and it supports 65W SuperDart Charge via USB-C.

In Europe, the X50 Pro 5G is priced from EUR 599 (about RM2,892) for the 8GB RAM +128GB storage model and it goes all the way up to EUR 749 (about RM3,615) for the top-spec 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. We expect Realme to price the device lower in Malaysia compared to the European market. It would be interesting to see how this smartphone would stack up against the Xiaomi Mi 10 series.
