There’s a Realme X3 without Superzoom

The Realme X3 series has just been launched in India and interestingly, it comes in two different models. In Malaysia, we got the Realme X3 SuperZoom that features a 5x optical periscope telephoto camera and it pushes up to 60x SuperZoom. For the Indian market, there’s a more affordable version that comes without a periscope camera.

In terms of design, the standard X3 looks similar to the SuperZoom version and the biggest noticeable difference is the topmost camera at the rear. Instead of a square camera lens, it comes with a round camera module since it uses a 12MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom.

The rest of the hardware remains mostly unchanged. It still features a 6.6″ Full HD+ IPS display that has a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. The screen still has a wide punch-hole on the top left corner that houses two selfie cameras. Instead of a 32MP main + 8MP ultra-wide combo, the non-SuperZoom model settles for a lower resolution 16MP main selfie camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter.

Under the hood, it still runs on a Snapdragon 855+ processor but the configuration is slightly lower with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM + 128GB UFS 3.0 storage for the Indian market. As a comparison, the Realme X3 SuperZoom is offered with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

Over at the rear, the quad-camera setup still sports a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP camera for macro shots. Powering the device is a 4,200mAh battery which supports Realme’s 30W Dart Charge via USB-C. According to Realme, you can get a full charge in just 55 minutes.

The X3 also shares the same colour options and it is available in Glacier Blue and Arctic White. In India, the device is priced from INR 24,999 (about RM1,416) while the X3 SuperZoom with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced from INR27,999 (about RM1,586). You can check out the side-by-side spec comparison here.

In case you missed it, the X3 SuperZoom in Malaysia is priced at RM1,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB model and RM2,299 for the top-spec 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version. During its flash sale, the base model was going for as low as RM1,799.
