COVID-19: Malaysia records 6 new cases today, 244 active cases remaining

Malaysia continues to record a single-digit number of daily cases with 6 new COVID-19 cases reported today. This brings the total number of infections to 8,596. There are no new deaths recorded and the death toll remains at 121.

The Ministry of Health has also reported 45 new recoveries today, and a total of 8,231 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 95.75% while the mortality rate is 1.41%.

At the moment, there are 244 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU and there are no cases that require respiratory support.

Out of the 6 cases, there are 2 imported cases involving 1 Malaysian and 1 permanent resident. The remaining 4 cases are all Malaysians which consists of cases from Hulu Langat Condominium cluster, Bukit Bintang cluster, Tahfiz screening and Kuching construction site cluster.

Malaysia has tested a total of 704,336 individuals for COVID-19. The positive rate is currently 1.22%.
