The Nubia Red Magic 5G is now available in Malaysia from RM2,599

The Nubia Red Magic 5G has one of the most impressive spec sheets on paper, with the headlining feature being a 144Hz refresh rate display—a first on a smartphone (as far as we know, at least). Internals don’t disappoint either, with a Snapdragon 865 and up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS3.0 storage, along with dual-mode 5G connectivity.

Now, local retailers Mobile 2 Go has announced that the Nubia Red Magic 5G is now available in Malaysia. Do note that these are import sets, and the 2-year warranty will be provided by Mobile 2 Go. Two variants are available:

Nubia Red Magic 5G – 12GB RAM, 128GB storage – RM2,688 (Black & Red)
Nubia Red Magic 5G – 12GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM2,988 (Black)

If you head over to the G Store on Lazada, prices are slightly lower:

Nubia Red Magic 5G – 12GB RAM, 128GB storage – RM2,599 (Black & Red)
Nubia Red Magic 5G – 12GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM2,899 (Black & Cyber Neon)

The Nubia Red Magic 5G is clearly targeted towards the gaming market, with the device having an “active” cooling fan within the phone. Nubia says that a heat sink reduces CPU temperatures by 18 degrees.

As mentioned, you’re getting a 144Hz refresh rate on a Full HD+ 6.65″ AMOLED display, while there is no notch or hole-punch cutout. Meanwhile, the Nubia Red Magic 5G has 240Hz touch-sensing for input latency. On the connectivity side of things, support for WiFi 6 is also available, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

And for the gamers out there, the Red Magic 5G also has an RGB light panel on the rear of the phone, along with capacitive shoulder triggers. The triple camera setup on the rear is made up of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro lens.
