Hi Home: You can use Lazada to buy property for as low as RM110,000

Property expos had always been an event people had to go to in real life to find a good property deal. But as we need to be more cautious of big crowds in real life, property companies have to figure out alternatives. Hi Home has teamed up with Lazada to launch a property expo online—and the deals seem pretty attractive.

“Today’s public health crisis is driving an increased demand for digital shopping experiences. We’ve seen a significant shift in the business landscape and consumer shopping behaviour during the COVID-19 and MCO period over the last 5 months in Malaysia, with e-commerce becoming an essential source to meet their needs. We are excited to have Hi Home on our platform leveraging our digital tools to make purchasing a home more accessible to homebuyers,” said Diana Boo, Chief Marketing Officer of Lazada Malaysia.

Hi Home and Lazada’s partnership will be the first ever online property expo in Southeast Asia. However, it’s not going to be like purchasing other items on the e-commerce platform—you’ll only be able to purchase vouchers first.

You can scroll through the available homes here, but don’t be fooled by their price tags. It may say RM88 or RM100 for your dream home, but it’s only just a booking voucher which is used to redeem free gifts from developers like cashback and special rebates.

Once you click on one of the offers, you can scroll down to read more information about the voucher. For example a voucher for a home in Seputeh includes an additional 5% rebate, free interest during construction, and free instalment for 12 months (maximum of 80% loan with 30 years repayment).

You’ll also be able to find information on the home itself, including special features, facilities and areas nearby. I would also suggest that you visit Hi Home’s website and look up the property you like to look for even more information. You’ll also be able to contact them for more information before proceeding to purchase the voucher.

“Our main focus has always been to promote homeownership and we are working closely with developers to ensure that we can offer the best deals in the industry. Consumers can expect to get discounts of up to 30% and prices as low as RM110,000. These offers can only be obtained through Hi Home Property Expo via Lazada,” says Radzi Tajuddin, Hi Home’s CEO.

Home buyers will also be able to take advantage of the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) 2020 under the Short-Term Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA). HOC 2020 will last until the end of 2021 and will carry the same set of benefits—which are stamp duty exemption on Memorandum of Transfer (MoT) and loan agreements, and Real Property Gain Tax (RPGT) exemption for disposal of residential homes.

In conjunction with the 7-7 sales, the Hi Home Property Expo in Lazada will showcase over 2,000 property units with a total value of RM1 billion. You can browse and book a home on LazMall and live streaming sessions with LazLive, although the streams are only viewable on mobile.
