Malaysia has recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases today, which brings the total number of infections to 8,587. Fortunately, there are no new deaths recorded for 8 straight days and the death toll remains at 121.
The Ministry of Health has recorded 21 new recoveries today and a total of 8,117 patients have recovered and discharged. The recovery rate is currently 95.23% while the mortality rate is 1.41%.
At the moment, there are 289 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU and there are no patients that require respiratory support.
Out of the 15 new cases reported today, there are 2 imported cases involving Malaysians returning from overseas. The remaining 13 local transmitted cases are all foreigners. According to the Ministry, there are 12 new cases reported from the Pedas cluster in Negeri Sembilan. This brings the total number of positive cases from the cluster to 316 which includes 302 foreigners.
