COVID-19: New cases drop to 19 today, 9 are Malaysians

The number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Malaysia have dropped from 277 yesterday to just 19 cases today. This brings the total number of infections to 8,266.

Unfortunately, there’s one new death reported today and this is the first fatality after 13 days with zero deaths. The death toll now stands at 116.

There are 51 new recoveries today and a total of 6,610 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.97% while the mortality rate is at 1.40%

At the moment, there are 1,540 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 6 are in ICU while one case requires respiratory support.

Out of the 19 new positive cases, 7 are imported while 12 are locally transmitted. From the local cases, there are 9 Malaysians and 3 foreigners.
