Realme Malaysia to launch Watch, fitness band and earbuds on 11 June

Realme Malaysia will be announcing its lineup of “AIoT” products next week and it appears there will be at least 5 new products. From the event teaser, this would include the Realme Watch, Realme Band, a new power bank and two new TWS headphones.

The event is taking place at 11 am on 11th June 2020. You can watch it live on realme’s Facebook page as they will unveil the official Malaysian pricing and availability.

Here is a list of products to expect from the launch next Thursday:

Realme Watch

The realme Watch is an affordable smartwatch that’s expected to be priced under RM300. It was launched in India last week for INR 3,999 (about RM226).

The watch comes with a 1.4″ touch-screen LCD display that pushes a resolution of 320×320 pixels. It comes with a heart-rate and SpO2 sensor, and it is rated to last up to 7 days on a single charge with heart-rate-monitoring enabled. It has IP68-rated dust and water resistance and it connects via Bluetooth 5.0. Unfortunately, there’s no built-in GPS.

Realme Buds Air Neo

The next product is the Realme Buds Air Neo and it’s a cheaper version of the current Buds Air. In India, it’s priced at INR 2,999 (about RM169).

Although it looks the same as the current Realme Buds Air, the Neo uses a larger 13mm sound drive and it has the same R1 chip that supports Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Battery life remains unchanged with 3 hours of music playback on a single charge and you can get up to a total of 17 hours with the included case. There’s also a gaming mode which cuts down latency to 119.2ms.

However, it lacks a secondary mic for environmental noise cancelling for voice calls and it lacks the optical sensor for wear detection. It does, however, come with IPX4-rated splash resistance but unfortunately, it charges via a micro-USB port.

Realme Buds Q

If you don’t like the AirPod-ish stems sticking out from your ear, there’s also the realme Buds Q. They are currently available in China with a retail price of CNY 149 (about RM89)

The Buds Q connects via Bluetooth 5.0 and is rated to last up to 3 hours of voice calls or up to 4.5 hours of music playback on a single charge. You can get a total of 20 hours of battery life with the included charging case that’s designed to look like a pebble.

The Buds Q support touch controls for music playback or to answer phone calls. Similar to the Buds Air, there’s also gaming mode which cuts down latency to 119ms.

Realme Powerbank 2

realme has recently introduced its 10,000mAh Power Bank 2 which supports two-way 18W fast charging. It looks the same as the current version but the exterior has a new grip texture design.

The power bank has a USB-A port and a USB-C port which you can use to charge two devices simultaneously. There’s also a 4-LED battery level indicator. The 10,000mAh power bank has a maximum output of 18W and it supports both USB-PD and Quick Charge fast charging protocols.

According to realme, the power bank 2 uses a high-density lithium polymer battery and it doesn’t suffer capacity degradation after it’s charged 500 times. For added safety, it also gets 13-layers of circuit protection that prevents overcharging and short circuit. In India, it’s priced at INR 999 which is about RM56.

Realme Band

Last but not least is the realme Band which costs significantly lower than the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. It has a price tag of INR1,499 in India which is about RM85.

The realme Band has a 0.96″ colour display that pushes a resolution of 80×160 pixels. It has a heart rate sensor, a 3-axis accelerometer, IP68 dust and water resistance and it connects via Bluetooth 4.2.

According to the spec-sheet, the 90mAh battery can last up to 10 days on a single charge. What’s interesting, is that the band has a hidden USB connector which you can charge via any powered USB port.
