COVID-19: New cases drop to 10 today, no new deaths for 6 days straight

Malaysia has reduced another reduction of new daily cases with 10 COVID-19 cases recorded today. This brings the total number of infections to 7,629. There are no new deaths recorded for 6 days straight and the death toll remains at 115.

The Ministry of Health also recorded 86 new recoveries and a total of 6,169 patients have recovered and discharged. The recovery rate is now 80.86% while the mortality rate is 1.51%

There are currently 1,345 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 8 patients are in ICU while 4 require respiratory support. There is no new imported case today and 5 out of 10 local cases are Malaysians.

The 5 cases involving non-Malaysians are recorded in Kuala Lumpur. For cases involving Malaysians, there are 2 cases in Kuala Lumpur, 2 in Pahang and one in Selangor. There are no new cases in other states or territories.

According to the ministry, there are currently 3 active clusters. 3 new cases were reported at Pudu and there’s one new case each at Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot and Pasar Chow Kit.

A total of 31,204 foreigners have been tested for COVID-19 so far. 1,858 were found positive and 27,807 tests returned negative. There are currently 750 active cases still receiving treatment and 1,008 tests are still awaiting results. 59.4% of positive cases among foreigners have recovered.
