After two years of waiting, Xiaomi sub-brand Poco has recently unveiled the Poco F2 Pro. It features the top of the line Snapdragon 865 processor with a large vapour chamber plus a huge 4,700mAh battery. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one, the new “flagship killer” is now available for pre-order on Lazada.
The Poco F2 Pro with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is going for RM2,499 via G Store on Lazada with stocks expected to arrive on 29th of May. Do note that this isn’t an official Xiaomi Malaysia unit and it comes with a 2-year in-house warranty by the seller. The same device is also available from the Xiaomi Asia Store on LazMall but it ships from Hong Kong.
If you can wait, Xiaomi Malaysia will bring official local units to our market very soon and it is expected to come with a lower price tag. In Europe, the base 6GB RAM + 128GB model is priced at EUR 499 (around RM2,378) and typically, Malaysian pricing is significantly lower.
To recap, the Poco F2 Pro is essentially a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro. It has a 6.67″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and it comes with a 20MP pop-up selfie camera. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform that supports both 5G and WiFi 6. It also uses high-performance LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
In the camera department, the quad-camera array consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Although it lacks stereo speakers, it still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster.
Powering the F2 Pro is a 4,700mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging but it does come with NFC. Out of the box, it runs on Android 10 with Poco Launcher 2.0.
