Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro now available for pre-order in Malaysia

Xiaomi has just unveiled the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro for the Malaysia market. These are the latest additions to the Redmi Note series featuring a large display and a huge 5,020mAh battery.

Pricing and availability

Below is the official Malaysian pricing for the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro:

The Redmi Note 9 3GB RAM + 64GB storage model will be available on 18th May exclusively on Shopee. They will be a flash sale where you can get it for only RM599 on the 18th of May.

Meanwhile, the higher-spec 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant will be available for pre-order between 11th to 17th of May via Lazada Malaysia. It’s available in three colours – Midnight Grey, Forest Green and Polar White.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro will also be available for pre-order from 11th to 17th of May via Lazada Malaysia. As a pre-order promo, they are offering a free 10,000mAh Redmi Powerbank for the Note 9 Pro. The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes in Interstellar Grey, Glacier White and Tropical Green which has a dual-tone appearance.

Redmi Note 9

The Redmi Note 9 is the most affordable option of the lot and it comes with a 6.53″ Full HD+ display. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 processor which claims to offer 21% more performance than the Snapdragon 665.

The rear also gets a quad-camera setup that consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The device also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, instead of a side-mounted unit. For selfies, it has a 13MP front camera that sites on a punch-hole on the top left corner. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster.

Although it comes with a lower price tag, it still comes with a generous 5,020mAh battery. It supports 18W fast-charging via USB-C and included is a 22.5W fast-charging power brick.

Redmi Note 9 Pro

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is the highest offering in the Redmi Note 9 series. Essentially, it is an upgraded variant of the Redmi Note 9S. It features a 6.67″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor.

For imaging, the rear gets a quad-camera setup, featuring a 64MP main camera. It also gets an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, the punch-hole houses a 16MP selfie shooter.

Powering the device is a 5,020mAh battery and it supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. Interestingly, it is bundled with a higher rated 33W power brick. The device still gets a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC and an IR blaster.
