How to get the most out of remote working during the MCO

The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected us all. In Malaysia, the implementation of the Movement Control Order has resulted in much of the workforce operating under stay-at-home remote working conditions. Despite some loosening of the restrictions, many Malaysians are still working remotely, as the country battles to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

But for many, the vast variety of remote working tools can be a little overwhelming. How do you know which video conferencing platform to choose from? What about Zoom? How do you transfer large files over a network, and which app is best for team communication?

On the latest episode of How-To-What-Is, Ray and I talk about the challenges faced by many with working remotely, as well as the multitude of apps that help to streamline our various work processes. And yes, we do feel that there are better, more secure options for video calling than Zoom.

In general, it’s important to understand that these tools aren’t one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, certain apps or platforms can be ideal for smaller teams, while if you’re operating with a large group of colleagues, some of the premium options we discussed might be a better fit.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below. Plus, we’d also love to hear your thoughts on what you want us to explore in the next episode of How-To-What-Is!
