The new DJI Mavic Air 2 which was unveiled yesterday is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. This is DJI’s latest compact drone that can shoot in 4K and it comes with almost 50% larger battery than its predecessor.

Retailer Harvey Norman is now accepting pre-orders and below is the official Malaysian pricing:

According to the retailer, the Mavic Air 2 is valid for in-store and online purchase from 29th April until 10th May 2020. Harvey Norman is also offering a 24-months interest-free payment plan from as low as RM137.46 per month.

Alternatively, the new drone is also available on DJI official store at Lazada. Both single and Fly More Combo stocks are expected to arrive in 15th May 2020.

For an extra RM1,000, the Fly More Combo comes with more accessories to complete your droning experience. You’ll get a total of 3 batteries, 6 pairs of propellers, a set of ND Filters, battery charging hub with power bank adaptor and a shoulder bag.

DJI Mavic Air 2 specs

The Mavic Air 2 sits right between the Mavic Mini and the Mavic 2 Pro. At 570g, it is heavier than the original Mavic Air but it now packs a larger 3,500mAh battery that is rated to provide up to 34 minutes of flight time.

In the imaging department, it comes with a 48MP 1/2.0″ CMOS sensor attached to a 3-axis gimbal. It can record up to 4K60fps videos and up to 48MP stills. It is also capable of doing 240fps slow-mo at 1080p and HDR video at 4K30fps.

As expected, it packs a number of QuickShot features such as Boomerang, Asteroid, Rocket, Circle, Helix and there’s also a new 8K Hyperlapse mode. The controller for the Magic Air 2 is huge and it supports OcuSync 2.0 transmission technology that has a rated range of up to 10km. To minimise accidental crashes, the drone is also equipped with Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) 3.0.

With a starting price of RM3,299 in Malaysia, it is slightly more affordable than the US market which retails for USD 799 (about RM3,472). Meanwhile, the Fly More Combo in the US retails for USD 988 (about RM4,293).
