Because of the prolonged Movement Control Order (MCO), Astro had previously offered free channel viewing for certain channels each time the order had been extended. With another extension announced by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin until the 12th May, Astro is extending their complimentary access again, and this time with additional learning channels.
The new learning channels that are free to view for all Astro customers until the 12th May include:
These new additions are great for educational purposes, since all schools, including kindergartens, government and private schools have been closed since 18th March. Immersive shows like ‘Underworld Inc.’ and ‘Michael Palin’s Journey’ can be viewed on the National Geographic channel, and fun science-y shows like ‘Man vs. Bear’ and ‘How It’s Made’ can be seen on the Discovery Channel.
As for the free channels offered previously, they’re also extended. You can keep viewing these until 12th May as well, as long as you’re an Astro customer:
For NJOI customers, you can continue to enjoy free viewing of these channels until 11.59pm, 12th May:
If you’re not an Astro customer, you can watch these channels for free on Astro Go:
