Malindo Air has announced that it will resume domestic flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang starting from 27th April 2020. The airline will operate a single daily flight to each of its domestic destination.
The airline had earlier suspended its commercial flights due to the movement control order but they had operated rescue flights to bring back Malaysians stranded overseas. As of 21st April, they had operated 13 repatriation flights to India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
According to Malindo Air, the domestic flights are deployed to meet demand and to ease the journey back home for students that are stranded in campuses. As announced by the government, students at campuses will be allowed to return home starting 27th April provided their destination is a green zone.
As a safety measure, all passengers are required to wear a face mask. If they don’t have one, they will be required to purchase one before they can board the flight.
From KLIA, Malindo will operate daily flights to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Penang. Meanwhile from Subang Airport, they will serve Penang, Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Langkawi, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bahru.
As part of their Ready to Get Back promo, all flights from Subang are priced from RM199 while flights from KLIA will start from RM159 for Penang, from RM299 to Kuching and from RM399 for Kota Kinabalu.
Malindo is operating domestic flights only as all international flights from KLIA are still prohibited. Apart from Malindo Air, AirAsia is also resuming their domestic flights but it will begin slightly later from 29th April.
