In the last 24 hours, 8 states have not recorded any new cases. This includes Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kelantan and Labuan. Melaka recorded the highest number of new cases at 37.
According to Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, a new cluster has been detected among returning Malaysians from Indonesia via KLIA on 16th April 2020. These clusters include 43 students from Temboro. 34 of them are currently quarantined in Melaka while the remaining 9 are being quarantined in Kuala Lumpur.
The DG also added that medical experts from China are not here to assist with the treatment of COVID-19 patients. They are in Malaysia to share their experiences in dealing with the outbreak.
