Latest fuel price: RON95 at RM1.25/litre, RON97 at RM1.55/litre

Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance has released the latest prices of fuel for the coming week and it marks yet another price drop for 6 weeks in a row. RON95 and RON97 petrol is now 5 sen/litre cheaper while Diesel prices have gone down by 12 sen/litre.

Below is the new fuel prices which will take effect from 11th April until 17th April 2020:

RON95 – RM1.25/litre (-5 sen)
RON97 – RM1.55/litre (-5 sen)
Diesel – RM1.46/litre (-12 sen)
Diesel (Euro 5) – RM1.56/litre (-10 sen)

Although the price of petrol is cheap, all Malaysians are urged to stay at home throughout the Movement Control Order period and only to go out to buy essentials. This afternoon, the Prime Minister has announced a two-week extension and the MCO is tentatively scheduled to end on 28th April 2020.

The new RON97 petrol price of RM1.55/litre is the lowest since 31st July 2005. In the last week of February 2020 (29 Feb – 6 March), RON95 was priced at RM2.08/litre while RON97 was going for RM2.40/litre. Diesel was priced at RM2.13/litre during that time.
