When it comes to accessories, the all-new Magic Keyboard that features a multi-touch trackpad and the ability to tilt the iPad will only be available locally in May 2020. It costs RM1,349 for the 11″ iPad Pro and RM1,549 for the 12.9″ version.
Other accessories such as the Smart Keyboard Folio and the 2nd gen Apple Pencil are already available. The Smart Keyboard Folio costs RM769 for the 11″ version and RM869″ for the 12.9″ size. Meanwhile, the Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro is priced at RM549.
Although it retains a similar exterior as the 3rd gen iPad Pro, the new 2020 models boast a new A12Z Bionic Chip which Apple claims to outpace most PC laptops today. A noticeable change at the rear is the camera bump which looks somewhat similar to the iPhone 11 Pro series.
It features a 12MP main camera and a 10MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. The third “camera” is a LiDAR scanner which is used for light detection and ranging. This will be useful for augmented reality intensive applications.
The screen still uses a Liquid Retina display and it features a smooth ProMotion technology as well as True Tone. For an immersive video viewing experience, there’s also a quad-speaker setup and it is also rated to last up to 10 hours on a single charge. Similar to the 3rd gen model, this iPad Pro charges via USB-C. While the overall dimensions remain unchanged, the 4th gen iPad Pro is actually 10g heavier for the 12.9″ model and 3-5g heavier for the compact 11″ variant.
If you max out on the possible options including the Magic Keyboard and 2nd gen Apple Pencil, the 12.9″ iPad Pro 1TB WiFi+Cellular combo will cost you RM9,397. You can learn more in our iPad Pro 2020 announcement post.
