MCO: Yoodo is probably Malaysia’s best option for free data

[ UPDATE 5/05/2020 10:30 ]: Yoodo no longer provides free 1GB data automatically during the MCO. You must redeem daily from the app. More details here.

===

Last week, Yoodo has announced that they are offering free 1GB of data every week. Now they are getting even more generous by offering free 1GB data daily throughout the Movement Control Order period which has been extended until 14th April 2020.

According to the MCMC, the big 4 telcos will be offering free 1GB of data daily which is valid from 8am to 6pm. That’s just a 10-hour window to enjoy your free data. For Yoodo, their free daily data offer can be enjoyed at any time of the day which means you can use it 24/7.

On top of that, you also get to enjoy this offer earlier starting from the 30th of March 2020. All you’ll need to do is to have an active Yoodo plan.

According to the FAQ, the validity of the free 1GB data will follow your existing plan. That means there’s no daily expiry and you can accumulate the free data until your current plan renews.

If you’re interested to sign up with Yoodo, they are still offering free SIM card delivery via normal mail during the MCO period. To get it quicker, you can request for express delivery within 2 hours for only RM5 but this is only available in the Klang Valley. For those who are using the latest generation of iPhone and iPad models, you can also activate Yoodo immediately via eSIM.

For the ongoing free 1GB weekly offer, you won’t be getting an extra 1GB on Mondays for the next three weeks. However, assuming if the MCO ends on 14th April, they will still provide that free 1GB on 20th and 27th April 2020 as promised.

In case you didn’t know, Yoodo is a digital telco under Celcom which allows you to customise your own plan. For more info, visit the Yoodo COVID-19 initiative page.
