Huawei P40: Here’s how to watch the launch live stream in Malaysia

The Huawei P40 series is launching this week and this is their latest flagship lineup that will succeed the current P30 and P30 Pro. Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, the devices will be revealed through a live stream event and here’s how you can watch it in Malaysia.

The P40 series launch is happening this Thursday, 26th March 2020 at 14:00 Central European Time. That’s 9pm Malaysian time on the same day.

You can watch the event live via YouTube or via Huawei’s Facebook page.

The P-series has always been Huawei’s photography-centric flagship line up and this is their 5th generation of smartphones that are co-engineered with Leica. As seen on the recent leaks, Huawei is expected to release at least 3 models and there will be a larger P40 Pro Plus that would compete against the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

With 5G being launched in more markets, the latest P40 series trio will be running on a Kirin 990 5G processor that comes with an integrated 5G modem. This will allow support for wider 5G bands in both SA and NSA architecture.

For the first time, the new P40 series will feature a quad-curve display which would reduce the bezels on the forehead and chin. The base P40 is expected to come with a triple-camera setup while the P40 Pro will come with a quad-camera setup. The top of the line P40 Pro Plus will come with a Penta-camera setup and a more advanced telephoto camera system. Instead of a notch, the new devices will feature a punch-hole on the display for its selfie cameras.

Since Malaysia is a key market, you can expect pre-orders to start soon. However, this could be delayed due to the current Movement Control order. The new smartphones are also Huawei’s first P-series devices to ship with Huawei Mobile Services with AppGallery. The current P30 and P30 Pro are the last Huawei flagships to offer Google apps and services.
