The Oppo Find X2 Pro is the new number 1 on DxOMark mobile

The Oppo Find X2 Pro has just been launched globally, and one of the highlights of Oppo’s new flagship smartphone is the “Ultra Vision Camera System”. Other major headlining features include the 120Hz QHD+ 6.7″ display, along with the new Snapdragon 865+ powering the device. And of course, there’s 5G support on both the Find X2 and the Find X2 Pro. But Oppo has just registered a rather remarkable rating with DxOMark’s latest review of the Find X2 Pro’s camera setup: an overall score of 124.

This makes the Find X2 Pro the new top-ranked smartphone camera for DxOMark—although that top spot is shared with a certain Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. The triple camera setup is made up of a 48MP wide angle primary shooter that uses a Sony IMX689 sensor with a large 1/1.43″ sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide (Sony IMX586), as well as a 13MP telephoto lens that offers 5X optical zoom. All cameras feature PDAF.

Meanwhile, there’s also a 32MP selfie shooter housed in a punch-hole cutout at the top-left of the device’s display.

Interestingly, the new Oppo Find X2 Pro also has identical scores to the Mi 10 Pro for Photo and Video in DxOMark’s rankings: 134 and 104 respectively. However, the review also explains that this doesn’t equate to identical camera performance—both devices have different strengths and weaknesses.

Oppo delivers a more balanced performance, with results that are close to the best we have seen in almost all Photo and Video sub-categories.

Additionally, the review praises the reliability of Oppo’s autofocus system, both for photos and videos, in addition to dynamic range, colour, as well as noise-management. Videos shot in low light also result in a low amount of noise, although there is “some noise” in videos taken outdoors. For photos, there is a “slight” lack of detail for photos taken with the 48MP ultra-wide shooter, although there isn’t too much distortion.

As mentioned, the Oppo Find X2 Pro is certainly a seriously specced out device. Most, if not all, of the hardware featured with the flagship is top of the line stuff—the SoC, 5G support, the display, and now, the camera. European pricing is as follows:

Find X2 Pro—12GB RAM + 512GB storage—EUR 1,199 (about RM5,650)
Find X2—12GB RAM + 256GB storage—EUR 999 (about RM4,708)

We don’t have concrete pricing details for the Malaysian market just yet, but the Malaysian launch is happening on the 10th of March 2020, with the pre-order for the Find X2 Pro from 6–20 March 2020.
