Samsung Galaxy S20: Get up to RM2,310 off when you trade-in your phone

[ UPDATE 05/03/2020 23:00 ] Samsung is offering higher trade-in value for Samsung Galaxy flagships.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series will be available in Malaysia nationwide starting tomorrow, the 6th of March 2020. If you’re still holding on to your current phone, Samsung wants to make it easier for you to swap to their latest flagship via a trade-in program. Your current phone could be valued as high as RM2,310.

The trade-up program runs on 3rd March until the 31st of May 2020 and it’s also available at the Samsung Galaxy S20 Consumer Roadshow between 6th to 8th of March 2020.

According to the T&C, the phone trade-in valuation is done by CompAsia and Samsung is only acting as the coordinator for the trade-in transaction. According to the list, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ 128GB and the Huawei P30 Pro 512GB are valued at RM1,225. If you’re using a Galaxy Note 9, it is worth RM910 for the 128GB version and RM1,130 for the 512GB variant.

As expected, the iPhone has the highest trade-in value with the iPhone XS Max 64GB valued at RM1,860 while the largest 512GB version being valued at RM2,310. You can view the full list below:

The trade-in device must be in good and working condition. This includes the ability to switch on and off, and the IMEI number is accessible. The device must also have a functional screen with no missing buttons or cracked casing. Each customer is only permitted to trade-in one device and the trade-in value is not redeemable for cash.

Before your hand over your device at the participating outlet, you are reminded to backup your phone’s data and we recommend performing a full factory reset. Once the staff has evaluated your device and you’re satisfied with the valuation, you can proceed to purchase the new Galaxy S20 series by paying the price difference.

To recap, the Samsung Galaxy S20 is priced at RM3,599 while the S20+ is going for RM3,999. Meanwhile, the top of the line Galaxy S20 Ultra is priced at RM4,999. During the nationwide roadshow, Samsung is providing additional free gifts which include a 128GB microSD card and a wireless charging pad. Early bird customers can also walk away with a 50″ 4K Smart TV worth RM2,599 while stocks last.

You can learn more about the program including the list of participating Samsung Experience Stores on the Trade-Up campaign page.
