Realme has finally unveiled its latest mid-range offering with the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. With a starting price of INR 12,999 (about RM739), the Realme 6 series offers an impressive 90Hz Ultra Smooth Display, a 64MP main camera and a flagship-class charging solution that can fully charge your device in an hour.
Among the two, the Realme 6 Pro is the higher-spec option. It gets a 6.6″ Full HD+ display that has a 90Hz refresh rate. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor that can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
For a more striking appearance, the 6 Pro gets a “UV-curing Gradient Offset Printing” effect that features a reflective lightning pattern design. Instead of having a rear-mounted sensor, the new device now gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that doubles up as a power button.
For taking pictures, it gets a quad-camera setup featuring a 64MP f/1.8 main camera that uses Samsung’s GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto shooter and 2MP camera for macro shots. The display also gets a dual-punch-hole-selfie camera that consists of a 16MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
The 6 Pro is a 4G LTE device and it supports dual-frequency GPS, 802.11ac WiFi as well as Bluetooth 5.1. It also comes with a triple-card slot which allows you to use two SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously.
Powering the device is a 4,300mAh battery that charges via USB-C. Using the 30W Flash Charger, you can get a full charge in 1 hour. It still retains the good old 3.5mm headphone jack and it also features Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. Out of the box, it runs on realme UI that’s based on Android 10.
The Realme 6 is no longer your typical budget mid-range smartphone. Although it replaces the Realme 5, the new Realme 6 now gets a higher resolution 6.5″ Full HD+ display that also pushes a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Instead of a Qualcomm processor, it runs on a MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is the same unit that’s powering the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
The Realme 6 can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. If you need more storage, you can also expand further with a dedicated microSD card slot. It’s also a dual-SIM device with 4G LTE support and it also supports 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
In terms of cameras, it also gets a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro lens. However, the telephoto camera is replaced with a 2MP portrait lens. For selfies, the device gets a single 16MP punch-hole camera that sits on the top left corner.
The Realme 6 also gets a 4,300mAh battery which is similar to the Pro model. However, it is worth pointing out that the capacity is significantly smaller than the Realme 5’s 5,000mAh unit. Also included is a 30W Flash Charge power brick that can fully charge the device in 1 hour.
