This is not the Apple Watch and it’s launching this Friday

Apart from the Oppo Find X2 series, the Chinese smartphone maker is also releasing its first smartwatch that looks uncannily like the Apple Watch. It features a squarish display with rounded corners and it appears to be slightly curved on the side edges.

We still don’t know the specs just yet but the interface confirms that you can make calls with it. It isn’t clear if it supports 4G or 5G connectivity, but the very least, it should be able to support voice calls via Bluetooth. Overall, it looks more refined compared to the Xiaomi Watch and we are guessing that it should be running on Google’s Wear OS.

From the picture, we can tell that there will be at least two colour options – Black and Gold, for the watch case. Unlike the Cupertino version, the Oppo Watch doesn’t come with a digital crown and it features two side buttons on the right instead.

Since Oppo is elevating itself as a premium brand, we don’t expect this to be as cheap as Xiaomi’s smartwatch. Perhaps, Oppo might offer a bundle promo for the watch together with its flagship-class Oppo Find X2 Pro. The global launch is taking place on the 6th of March 2020 and the Malaysian launch event is scheduled for 10th March 2020.
