Honor View 30 Pro is Honor’s first global 5G smartphone

With 5G rolling out in more markets, the Honor View 30 Pro (aka Honor V30 Pro) is officially announced outside of China. This is Honor’s first 5G smartphone and it supports both SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) networks.

On the surface, it shares a lot of similarities with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G. It runs on the latest Kirin 990 5G chipset and it gets a quad-camera setup featuring a 40MP Sony IMX600 sensor. What’s surprising is that it scored a point higher than the Huawei Mate 30 Pro (4G) on DxOMark.

The device can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It is a dual-SIM device but unfortunately, there’s no microSD card expansion

Upfront, it gets a 6.57″ FullView Full HD+ IPS LCD display that comes with a dual-punch-hole on the top left corner. For selfies, it gets a 32MP front camera and a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter.

At the rear, it gets a triple camera setup consisting of a 40MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 8MP telephoto camera that can do 3X optical zoom and 5X hybrid zoom. There’s also dual-OIS as well as laser autofocus.

The View 30 Pro comes with a 4,100mAh battery and it supports 40W wired SuperCharge technology that can push 70% charge in 30 minutes. In addition, this is also the first View device that supports wireless charging and it can be charged wireless up to 52% in 30 minutes.

According to Honor, Russia is the first market to get the View 30 Pro. So far there’s no mention about its availability for Malaysia. The device comes with MagicUI 3.0.1 that’s based on Android 10 and it will ship with Huawei Mobile Services. That means you won’t get Google apps and services pre-installed.
