Realme X50 Pro 5G launch goes virtual due to COVID-19 concerns

Following the cancellation of MWC 2020, Realme has also decided to cancel its Realme X50 Pro 5G launch that was scheduled to take place at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, the device will still be unveiled on the 24th of February but it will be done online from Madrid, Spain.

According to Realme’s official statement, Realme has been concerned with the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and they have explored all possible situations. Since MWC 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, obviously they can’t launch the device in Barcelona.

As an alternative, they have followed Sony’s footsteps by launching the device via a live stream. Realme will be sharing details of its online launch event as soon as possible.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G is their latest flagship smartphone that will run on the latest Snapdragon 865 processor and it supports dual-band 5G. From what we know so far, the device will feature a 90Hz Super AMOLED display and it also supports 65W SuperDart fast charging via USB-C.

This new device is supposedly the bigger brother of the Realme X50 5G that was launched in China last month. The X50 is also dual-band 5G device but it runs on a Snapdragon 765G processor. It gets a 6.57″ IPS LCD panel but it pushes a higher 120Hz refresh rate.
