Samsung Galaxy A30s now upgraded with double the storage

Samsung Malaysia has announced an upgrade for its affordable Galaxy A30s. The device was originally launched in September 2019 with 64GB of storage and for 2020, they have released a new option which comes with 128GB of storage.

In terms of price, the Galaxy A30s 128GB is going for RM999 which is RM100 more than the 64GB model. On Lazada, a LazMall store is selling the upgraded A30s with 128GB storage for RM955.

Looking at the spec sheet, the rest of the device remains unchanged. It still has a 6.4″ HD+ Super AMOLED display that has a tiny notch at the top for a 16MP selfie camera. The rear also retains the same triple-camera setup that consists of a 25MP main, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. Under the hood, it still runs on an Exynos 7904 processor with 4GB RAM.

Keeping the lights on is a modest 4,000mAh battery that can support 15W fast charging via USB-C. You also get an on-screen fingerprint sensor and it also supports Samsung Pay via NFC.

If you don’t need so much storage, some online retailers are offering the 64GB variant for less than RM700. For those looking for a better spec-ed device, the Galaxy A51 and A71 are now available in Malaysia.
