Awesome screen, awesome came–OK enough. ENOUGH. The Samsung Galaxy A51 and A71 have finally launched in Malaysia as the company’s brand new duo. Here is everything you need to know about it.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 will be priced at RM1,299 and will be available in three separate colours: Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Blue. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A71 will be priced at RM1,799, and be available in three colours too: Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Silver and Prism Crush Blue.

Samsung’s new smartphones will be available for pre-order from 3-5 February 2020 while stocks last. If you pre-order the Samsung Galaxy A51 and A71 during this period, you’ll get a complimentary Protection Plus plan that includes 1-year extended protection and 1-time screen protection. The smartphones will then be available nationwide from the 7th of February onwards.

To recap, Samsung’s Galaxy A51 and A71 are mid-range smartphones. Both handsets feature Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O displays, but the Galaxy A51 has a 6.5″ panel while the Galaxy A71 gets a larger 6.7″ panel instead. Inside, the smartphones differ a little when it comes to RAM and processor, but feature a generous 128GB of internal storage that you can expand via microSD.
At its heart, the Galaxy A51 is powered by an Exynos 9611 processor that’s mated to 6GB of RAM while the Galaxy A71 is packing a Snapdragon 730 SoC with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy A51 also gets a smaller 4,000 mAh battery compared to the Galaxy A71’s 4,500 mAh, and that is complemented with 15W fast-charging on the A51 compared to 25W fast-charging on the A71.
For photography, both smartphones come with a quad-camera setup at the back that features a wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro and a 5MP depth sensor. The biggest difference is that the Galaxy A51 packs a 48MP wide-angle camera while the Galaxy A71 sports a 64MP wide-angle camera instead.
Both handsets come with access to Samsung’s ecosystem features including Bixby and Samsung Pay (NFC-only), and they also have in-display fingerprint scanners for biometric security.
