Quad-camera Samsung Galaxy A51 and A71 are coming soon to Malaysia

Samsung’s brand new Galaxy A series for 2020 are coming to Malaysia very soon. The Korean smartphone maker has started posting its teasers, and both the Galaxy A51 and A71 have already passed SIRIM’s certification.

According to the certification listing, the two devices will support 5GHz 802.11ac WiFi and it also comes with NFC support. This is an indication that it would support Samsung Pay which enables contactless payments.

Since the upcoming Galaxy S20 will be announced on 11th February 2020, we reckon that the new Galaxy A series should be released earlier. Ideally, this should happen before the Chinese New Year festivities.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The Samsung Galaxy A51 is the replacement of the current Galaxy A50s and it comes with some slight updates. The display is now bigger with a 6.5″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it gets a punch-hole at the top that houses a 32MP selfie camera. Under the hood is the same Exynos 9611 processor that’s powering the current Galaxy A50s and it can be configured with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

The biggest visual change is its rear cameras as it now has a quad-camera setup in an “L-shaped” arrangement. It features a 48MP f/2.0 main camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro camera. The A51 still gets a 4,000mAh battery and it supports 15W fast charging via USB-C.

Samsung Galaxy A71

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is a bigger device with a 6.7″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 730 processor that’s also configurable up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The quad-camera camera setup is identical to the Galaxy A51 except for the main sensor which has been bumped up from 48MP to 64MP. The device is still rocking a large 4,500mAh battery that can support 25W fast-charging via USB-C.
