[ UPDATE 4/1/2020 00:00 ] Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite are now official. Learn more here.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is expected to be revealed very soon and this is their budget variant of the Galaxy Note 10. Before the official announcement, live photos of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite have surfaced online and it confirms what we know so far.
Instead of a dual-curved display, the upcoming productivity device comes with a flat display that has a punch-hole for the selfie camera. According to serial leakster Roland Quandt, Samsung is fitting a 6.7″ Full HD+ SuperAMOLED panel which is slightly smaller than the top of the line Galaxy Note 10+.
Although it is part of the Galaxy Note 10 series, this Lite device will be running on an older Exynos 9810 processor which powers the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 series. In terms of build quality, it doesn’t look as premium as the current Note 10 series based on the leaked images. But it will definitely come with a metal frame since there are antenna bands on the sides.
Probably the most standout design feature is its camera bump which looks similar to the Huawei Mate 20 series. It is speculated that Samsung will be using 12MP sensors for its main, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto shooters.
The good news is that the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is expected to retain some of the fan favourite features. According to earlier speculation, it will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and the option to expand more storage via microSD card. On top of that, it will get an even larger battery with a 4,500mAh capacity that can support 25W fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, it is said that it won’t come with wireless charging support.
Of course, it still comes with an S Pen and it is expected to feature the same 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Despite the “Lite” moniker, the S Pen is said to be connected via Bluetooth 5.0 but it isn’t clear if it will get the same advanced gesture controls as the more expensive Note 10 models.
In Europe, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is expected to be priced around EUR 609 (RM2,790) and if it does come here, it could be priced under RM2,500.
