If you’re going to the Klang Valley for a short trip, you can now enjoy unlimited RapidKL train rides starting from RM10 per day. Prasarana, the operator of MRT, LRT, BRT and monorail has announced its discounted MyCity pass which is available from now until the 31st December 2020.
The MyCity Pass requires a Touch ‘n Go card and you can activate 1-day pass for RM10 or a 3-day pass for RM25. Do note that you must have a minimum value of RM5 in the card to use the pass.
For first time users or for those who don’t have a Touch ‘n Go card, you can get a new card (worth RM10) with the pass that comes with RM5 of preloaded value. This bundle will cost you RM20 for a 1-day pass and RM35 for a 3-day pass. To extend your unlimited pass, you’ll just need to pay RM10 for 1-day or RM25 for 3-days.
The MyCity unlimited-ride pass covers LRT, MRT, BRT and monorail rides on the RapidKL network. If you’re taking a RapidKL or MRT feeder bus, the regular fare will be deducted from the stored value in the card. It is recommended that you top up the Touch ‘n Go card with more credit if you plan on taking the bus or use it for other transactions. According to the FAQ, you must maintain a minimum stored value of RM5 at all times in order to use the MyCity pass.
If you’re interested, the MyCity Pass is available from the RapidKL Customer Service offices at all LRT, MRT, BRT and Monorail stations. For frequent users, it is recommended that you activate the My100 pass (RM100) for 30-day unlimited travel. This is only offered for Malaysians with an IC.
