Monopoly, the worst board game ever, is now even worse

No joke, this game has quite literally ruined relationships. As comedian Louis CK once said, a loss in Monopoly is dark. It’s heavy. And it brings out the worst in people in a way that mimics real life so well that it’s borderline terrifying.

But, if you’re someone who enjoys this torment, then there’s good news because Hasbro has just released a brand new version of this awful game. It’s called Monopoly Longest Game Ever edition, and it does exactly what it says on the box.

While spin-off versions of this game are a dime a dozen, this particular variant is designed to keep you playing this game endlessly. According to the entry on Amazon, this version of the game has “a few different features in gameplay to help make the game last longer”. These features include having no auctions allowed, giving players cash for landing on Free Parking, and even the most ridiculous rule ever: If you’re running low on money, you can RIP YOUR BILLS IN HALF ALONG THE DOTTED LINE.

What monster thought this was a good idea?

On top of that, this Monopoly board is now even longer, with 66 properties and there’s only ONE die so you don’t get doubles anymore. What’s more, it also states that the game is not over for a player even if they go bankrupt–the only way out of this game is if someone owns every single property, of which there are three versions each.

I’m shuddering at the thought of this version. The dark, twisted part in me wants to play this game because every time I’ve played it, I absolutely crushed. Granted, I was mostly destroying children and occasionally my cousins, but that still counts OK. Monopoly takes no prisoners.

In any case, if you’re interested in it, the board game is available on Amazon for USD19.99 (~RM83.61), but I’d honestly spend that money on 209 pieces of keropok lekor instead.
