In case you missed the news, Pos Malaysia was recently teasing the release of a limited edition set of Batman-themed stamps on Twitter, with a digital copy of one of the stamps posted after a number of retweets. And now, they’ve launched the entire set of collectible stamps in collaboration with Warner Brothers Consumer Products and DC—and they look pretty awesome.
The stamps are being launched in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of the Batman series, and will be available in 2 different sets. The first set of collectibles, the 80 Years Folder Set, is available at RM120, and NST reports that there are only 8,000 sets available. This set consists of 3 stamp sheets with 11 stamps, 3 souvenir covers, 2 post cards, and 1 folder. Have a look below:
In addition to that, there is also an 80 Years Batman Special Pack that comes with an envelope, a miniature sheet, and a detachable postcard—all with iconic Batman-inspired designs, of course. The Special Pack is going for RM10, and 40,000 units are available to the public.
Both sets are now available for purchase at post offices nationwide, while you can order them online at www.eziEmall.com. According to Pos Malaysia executive vice-president, Schrene Goh, the idea is to encourage the younger generation to take up stamp-collecting as a hobby. Of course, another audience targeted with the collectibles are Batman fans, with Goh telling NST:
“We hope this series can be added to their existing Batman collections like figurines, mugs, diaries and more.”
While the stamps certainly aren’t cheap—especially the Folder Set—but they are certainly unique, and would make valuable additions to anyone’s collection of stamps or Batman memorabilia.
