Huawei WiFi Q2 Pro kills dead zones with both Mesh and Powerline connectivity

Huawei Malaysia has introduced the WiFi Q2 Pro and it is a WiFi solution that provides powerful WiFi reception in every corner of your home. Unlike typical multi-node solutions, Huawei also uses powerline connectivity to extend your home’s WiFi coverage via your home’s internal wiring.

The Huawei WiFi Q2 Pro is an improvement over the previous WiFi Q2 and it is priced at a lower RM499. Out of the box, you get a base unit plus one satellite unit. If you have a bigger home with a larger area to cover, you can even add up to 15 satellite units that cost RM169 each.

Utilising a gigabit powerline chip and PLC Turbo, Huawei claims that the Q2 Pro is capable of expanding 200Mbps broadband effectively through its nodes without a significant drop in speeds like typical mesh WiFi setups. The entire solution supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz 2×2 802.11ac WiFi.

The Q2 Pro is also designed for ease of setup. The satellites will synchronise the WiFi name and password from the base unit when you plug it in, eliminating the need for manual configuration. The base unit has 1x WAN port and 2x LAN ports, while the satellite unit comes with a single LAN port. The solution can be managed on your smartphone using the Huawei Smart Home app.

The Huawei WiFi Q2 Pro will be available in Malaysia from the 15th November 2019 and you can pre-order from the 11th November on the official online store. As a special launch promo, customers that purchase the Q2 Pro on the 15th November will get a free Q2 Pro satellite for free. This is quite a good bargain if you’re looking for a Mesh WiFi solution.
