Digi offers the Apple Watch Series 5 LTE from RM79/month, pre-order starts now

The Apple Watch Series 5 with LTE support is coming to Malaysia on the 1st November 2019. Digi is currently the only telco in the country to offer the cellular version of the latest Apple Watch and you can pre-order starting today. The watch is offered via Digi’s PhoneFreedom 365 instalment plan from RM79/month on a 24-month contract.

From the looks of it, Digi is only offering the Apple Watch 5 with the aluminium case. To recap, the new Apple Watch (Aluminium) GPS + Cellular 40mm model is officially priced at RM2,199 while the 44mm size is listed at RM2,349. It’s RM450 more than the standard GPS only model.

On Digi, the Apple Watch 5 (40mm) can be yours for RM79/month on Digi Postpaid 80 with Gboost, Postpaid 120, Postpaid 160 and Postpaid 190. The wearable will soon be offered on a Digi Postpaid Family plan and it’s going for RM88/month.

If you prefer the larger size, the 44m version is only RM10/month extra on the same postpaid plans. However, on the Digi Family Plan, the Apple Watch 5 (44mm) is going for RM94/month. The Apple Watch 5 (44m) is also offered in the Nike Edition for the same price. Do note that the Apple Watch requires an iPhone 6s or later.

To stay connected without your iPhone with you, you’ll need to subscribe to Digi’s AirSIM. This is essentially an eSIM solution for the Apple Watch where it shares the same number as your iPhone and it allows you to get mobile data as well as to make and receive calls on both devices. The AirSIM service costs RM10/month and they are offering it for free for the first 6 months if you sign up by 30th April 2020.
