[ UPDATE 21/10/2019 3:20PM ] Digi has clarified that they are the first telco to offer dual device service via eSIM.
==============
The Apple Watch Series 5 with cellular support is coming to Malaysia on 1st November 2019. To be among the first to use it, you can pre-order a unit from Digi starting next Friday, 25th October 2019.
The Apple Watch cellular version uses an eSIM and it shares the same number as your iPhone. This allows you to stay connected and you can make or receive calls, text and stream music through your wrist without having your iPhone with you. Digi already has an Apple Watch Series 5 checklist page and it appears that you must be a postpaid user to enjoy the multi-sim one number feature.
There are no plan and pricing details yet but Digi will offer a free 6 months trial to eligible postpaid subscribers. The Apple Watch Series 5 with LTE support will also be offered on instalment via its PhoneFreedom 365 program.
According to Digi, they are the first telco in Malaysia that enables you to use the same mobile number on two devices without using your phone. However, Maxis did have a similar feature via a nanoSIM when they offered the Huawei Watch 2 in 2017.
