Pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy Fold in Malaysia had started today and the device has sold out in less than 24 hours. This is the most expensive Samsung smartphone yet and it can transform from a phone into a large 7.3″ tablet.

As revealed earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is officially priced at RM8,388. Similar to Singapore, we are getting the 4G LTE version and it comes with 12GB of RAM + 512GB of storage. In Singapore, the foldable device is priced at S$3,088 which is about RM9,383 if converted directly.

For those who have successfully placed their pre-order with a RM800 deposit, they can collect their devices starting from the 16th October 2019. As part of Samsung’s premium experience, the device comes with a premier service benefit which includes a 24/7 premium careline, a free on-site pickup and delivery service for service support, priority express lane at Samsung’s service centres and one-time screen protection within the 12 months of purchase.

It isn’t clear if Samsung will restock the device in Malaysia anytime soon but they did mention to watch out for their next release. The Galaxy Fold is pretty rare and it can fetch a high price in the grey market. It was reported that fans were willing to pay double the price to be among the first to own it. Shortly after its first-day sale in Singapore, you can find import sets in Malaysia that are going for RM13,888.
