Xiaomi Malaysia to introduce the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro on 8th Oct

Xiaomi is announcing its new Redmi Note 8 series in Malaysia on the 8th October 2019. These are their new mid-range offering that packs uprated hardware at an affordable price range.

Redmi Note 8 Pro

As teased earlier, the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a 64MP main camera will be heading our way. This will be their top-of-the-line Redmi device for Malaysia that comes with a large 6.53″ Full HD+ display, a MediaTek G90T processor and a huge 4,500mAh battery.

Apart from the Pro model, Xiaomi Malaysia is also expected to announce a more affordable Redmi Note 8 model that comes with a smaller 6.3″ Full HD+ display. The device isn’t offered globally just yet but based on its China specs, it runs on a Snapdragon 665 processor with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

Redmi Note 8

The design looks different from the Pro model and the rear looks like a Redmi Note 7 with two extra cameras. The device features a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. The battery is smaller at 4,000mAh but it does support 18W fast charging via USB-C.

So far we don’t have the official pricing just yet but we reckon that both the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note Pro base variants should be priced under RM1,000 for the base models. We will find out more from the 8th October event so stay tuned.
