The Redmi Note 8 Pro which was announced last week is now available in Malaysia through retailer Mobile2Go. This is the Pro version which comes with a larger display, a bigger battery and it is the first smartphone you can buy with a 64MP camera.
At the moment, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is going for RM1,398 and this is for the top-spec model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. Obviously, this is an import set from China and it is covered by the retailer’s 2-year in-house warranty. The device is currently offered in two colour options – Black and White.
The device features a 6.53″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G90T processor. For imaging, this is the first Redmi Note device to come with a quad-camera setup which consists of a high-resolution 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies, there’s a 20MP front camera that sits in the tiny notch.
Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via USB-C. The device also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, NFC and it also supports microSD card expansion via a hybrid dual-SIM slot.
