This is what the Huawei Mate 30 Pro looks like

Despite facing restrictions from the US government, Huawei will still proceed to announce its new Mate 30 series in Munich on 19th September. Ahead of its launch event, serial leakster @Onleaks has shared high-resolution renders of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and it reveals a couple of interesting details.

In terms of design, it matches the earlier leaked promo image of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Upfront, it comes with a rather immersive looking Full View display that curves sharply towards the metal frame. There’s still a wide notch on the display which is expected to house two additional sensors for an improved 3D facial recognition.

If you look at the sides, you’ll notice there’s just a single power button. It is believed that Huawei is going for a touch-sensitive volume rocker where users can slide up or down to adjust the audio level. At the bottom, it looks quite similar to the Huawei P30 Pro, where it gets a USB-C port, a speaker grill and a SIM tray slot. Similar to its past models, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack.

For taking pictures, the Mate 30 Pro will get a quad-camera setup that is expected to feature 40MP sensors for main and ultra-wide-angle. Unlike the P30 Pro, the new device is said to come with an 8MP telephoto camera that offers 5X zoom (likely hybrid). Meanwhile, the fourth shooter is a 3D ToF sensor. What’s interesting is that the main 40MP camera is said to come with a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/1.6 which is quite narrow compared to Samsung flagship devices that offer f/1.5-f/2.4 dual-aperture.

To power up the device, the device is expected to feature a larger 4,500mAh battery and it is said to support a higher 25W fast wireless charging and 55W Super fast wired charging. It was recently reported that Google will not allow the Mate 30 pro to ship with Google’s licensed apps and services, so it is likely that the upcoming device could run on an open-source version of Android with Huawei’s own AppGallery.
